Over at the WIPs, The Dynamic Duo have made their first appearance. I'm extra super happy with Robin, but still need to fix up that belt, and Bat's needs a new cape and belt. I'm not entirely convinced with Bat's mask, but I think it works.

I've tried to model Batman about 3 times in the past 3 years, and never succeeded at it. So horrah for finally getting it done. And I finally feel like this is Elvis Deane's version of Batman, and not my reinterpretation of a Bruce Timm Batman, like all the old Bat-models I did in the past. I did use some reference from Timm's stuff, Bob Kane's, and my favourite Bat-artist, Jim Aparo, but mostly I just went with that felt right. I have Bruce's head done too, so he can take off the mask if he ever feels the need (though he would be bald, I haven't given him hair yet). Robin's hair is heavily inspired by Tim Drake's animated series hair, and if the need ever arises, I guess I'd have to give him a less spikey haircut for being plain ol' Tim Drake.

I have a basic wig model now that I just throw on a person's head and add stuff too. It's working out great so far. It's also what I used as a basis for the Batmask. Not sure it'll work on long hair characters, but for short haired folks, it's doing fine.

The land of WIPs has been updated with the new Griff design, and a strange visitor from another planet that I whipped up last night while working on my muscled body type. It was a sorta test to see how fast I could whip up the pieces required and the head I'd need to make a new character. And it really didn't go that bad.

Though he's not yet up on the site, I also remade General Zerrin's head, the villain from Griff Hagarth. I just finished making the body for the short and fat body, which still requires clothes, and then I move on to the female body types.

I am almost finished the book now! For months, a few plot points at the beginning were just not working and some scenes felt awkward, so I had given up on the whole thing and moved on to writing a new book. But I realized the 150 pages I already had was salvageable. I went chapter by chapter through the first half of the book last week and fixed things. Now the biggest headache is getting the final chapter written and finding a nice way to dispose of the one villain who is still causing mayhem.
